Light on the Screen: Issue #4 – Reflecting Mary’s Humble Faith at the End of May

As we wrap up the beautiful month of May, we’re excited to share the fourth issue of Light on the Screen! It’s been such a meaningful month as we’ve spent time honoring Mary—the mother of Jesus—whose quiet strength, deep faith, and humble "yes" to God continue to inspire us every day.

As we close out this month, let’s take a moment to reflect on how Mary’s example can shape the way we live out our digital mission. Because honestly, what we do online matters. And it can be a powerful way to share the love of Christ.

Following Mary’s Lead

Mary’s story reminds us what it looks like to trust God fully. In Luke 1:38, when the angel tells her about God’s plan, she replies, “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.” No questions, no conditions—just trust. That kind of humility is powerful.

As we support Christian YouTubers—especially those just starting out—Mary’s example encourages us to do so quietly, lovingly, and without expecting anything in return. Just like her, we can trust that God is working through even the smallest acts of kindness.

This past month, many of you stepped up to discover and encourage Gospel-centered creators. And we’ve loved hearing how the Holy Spirit led you to channels you’d never seen before. Your comments, your prayers, your likes—they’re all small seeds being planted for God’s kingdom. Thank you for being part of that!

Here’s the heart behind Light on the Screen:
Jesus said, “Love one another” (John 13:34)—and that’s where it all begins.

Our mission is to help shine a light on new and growing Christian YouTube channels. Whether a channel has five followers or five thousand, if they’re sharing God’s Word, we want to lift them up.

Each week, we invite you to do these 7 simple things:

  1. Search for Christian creators sharing God’s Word on YouTube.

  2. Watch their videos with intention—really listen to the message.

  3. Like the videos to help more people find their content.

  4. Comment with encouragement to uplift their faith and mission.

  5. Subscribe if their content blesses you—let them know you're with them.

  6. Share a video with a friend or on your social media to spread the message.

  7. Pray for their mission, creativity, and protection as they share the Gospel.

These small steps really do matter. Just one kind comment can encourage a discouraged creator to keep going. Just one like can help their video reach more people. It’s all part of declaring God’s glory to the nations—just like Psalm 96:3 calls us to do.

A Moment with Scripture

Let’s look at Mary’s words from Luke 1:46–48 (NIV):
“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.”

Mary didn’t boast. She praised. She pointed everything back to God. And that’s exactly what we’re doing here. Every little act of love we offer—each time we support a creator with no spotlight on ourselves—we’re part of a bigger song of praise that points people to Jesus.

As we step into June, let’s keep this same humble heart. Here are a few simple ways you can continue to be part of this digital mission:

🌟 Find New Creators: Set aside a few minutes each week to discover someone sharing God’s Word online.
💬 Encourage with a Comment: A kind word can go a long way.
🙏 Lift Them Up in Prayer: Ask God to guide their voice and protect their hearts.
🤍 Be Like Mary: Support with quiet love, not for recognition, but as an offering to God.

Even if you don’t see the impact right away, trust that God is working through your faithfulness. What you’re doing matters.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Mary’s example—her quiet faith, her courage, her surrender. As we support Christian creators online, help us do so with the same spirit. Strengthen those who are sharing Your Word through videos, guide their messages, and protect their hearts. Use our encouragement to bring hope and truth to the digital world. And let everything we do bring glory to Your name.
